6/29/10 birDie Day

I played at Springbrook this afternoon and shot 38-44 for an 82, from the men's tees. After double-bogeying the first hole, I made my first par on the evil-looking, par-3 second. I parred the third and the fourth holes, and then my moment finely came: I smashed my drive 220 yards to the middle of the fairway, landing 90 yards from the green. Sending my pitching wedge to the green, I then drained a sidewinding, 20-foot putt for my first birdie of the year. Shortly after that, a menacing cloud rolled in, bringing with it a steady downpour. The rain subsided about 30 minutes later, so I left my shelter and made another birdie on the par-five sixteenth.
