First Scrimmage for the High School

Today, I played my first match against the Number 1 player from Cony High School, who finished second in States last year. I lost 45 to 40 on nine holes. Trailing him by 2 strokes going into the eighth hole, I hit my drive down the middle of the fairway 160 yards from the green. I pushed my second into a bunker to the right of the green, hit my bunker shot thin over the green, and, two chips and two putts later, I had triple-bogeyed the hole. I had squandered the lead I had had from the second to seventh holes and was never able to get it back. Darn it.
